Thanks everyone. It is a privilidge to work where I do, good bosses and some of the us's best of the breed. The horses there are just what one imagines they are. Big, Black, Bold and FRIENDLY! Although, If they were mine Id shave the feathers. The scratches are terrible.
My girls are all outcasts. I got 1 for free, 1 for $100 and one for $500. The one that is all scarred up and doesnt have papers was the $500 one!
I got Chardonnay because her owner brought her home from the trainers and couldnt handle her. She deemed her dangerous and was only selling her to somone who was willing to prove they could handle her. She isnt bad, just, bold, and she thought, until I got her, she was in charge. My fiance called her a saddledragon and it has stuck. She bit and was just kind of a pain, but she bit me 1 time, hasnt been a problem since. My 3 yo was owned by a nice lady that had to move to a place that only allowed 4 horses, she had 5. So she was mine. Kaytie was owned by a breeder, traded to the amish for training, then sold at auction to a lady that thought she would make a lesson horse, she must have been drugged, she is a very nervous horse. That's how I got her, too much for a lesson horse, too scared up to be shown. I just have been lucky.
And yes, mares are my favorite. I have 2 female dogs and a female cat too. No male animals unless I find my dream stud.
