    Hello from New Mexico

    Hi Everyone!

My fiance and I just moved to Edgewood, NM and now have a home where we can keep horses. This has always been a dream of mine and it looks like I can finally fulfill it. However, when it comes right down to it, I don't know all the much about horses or riding. I've riden as much as I can in the last few years and helped feed, shoe and saddle a few horses and mules. But to be honest I don't feel I could properly care for a horse at this point in time.

What I'm hoping to do is find a place that I can learn the ins and outs of feeding, grooming, riding and general care of a horse. That way, whenever the day comes that we get our own horses, I'll know that I can properly care for them. Unfortunatly, I haven't had much luck finding any places near my home. If any one out there has any suggestions, I'd be more than happy to hear them.

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum :) I think your best bet would be to find any horse riding clubs in your area. If you find one, join. Even if you don't have a horse yet and go to a few meetings. Also check NM state horse council
http://www.nmhorsecouncil.org/ they may be able to help you find a place in your area. If they put on an annual horse expo be sure to go, its a great place for getting information.
