I am new to the Horse Forum....
In July I bought my first horse ...a 10 yr old QH gelding named Tiny ..and I am in my 40's cough cough !!! I looked for some time for him ... I just trail ride with my guy following my daughter and hubby around on their horses(two mares) . I have been taking lessons each week with my guy because he has more training than I do and I want to learn all I can on how to use those buttons ....he's been a barrel horse most of his life and a babysitter for his previous owners yearlings...he's full of Character and personality ....
My daughter is 11 yrs old and I am living my dreams threw her ...she has a beautiful part Arab horse named Kansas our Diva of the pasture DD likes to ride both English and Western and has yet to decide and hubby who was raised on a farm rides a Belgian cross draft horse named Maybelline ...who use to be a driving horse ..he says its like riding a sofa side ways ...ha ha !!..she's our Queen of the pasture ....Well I hope to learn alot here ...thanks ...

Welcome from another Ontario-n here. I'm up North with two OTStdbd rescues that I ride in my backyard. I'm also over 40. There are a few of us here, so don't feel alone!

    thanks ...

Whew ! Thank you ! I am about 45 minutes from Toronto. I guess you can say I ride in my backyard... and the neighbours backyards also....
It has been a dreary week here ...rain rain rain ....MUD MUD MUD!!!!

RAIN -- oh I HEAR you. Thankfully, I got all my hay except for 130 bales in the barn before it started. I'm hoping it will stop raining long enough one weekend for me to get that last little bit in!

MUD - I'm sick of cleaning muddy horse feet for sure. I'm bringing my dish gloves with me to the barn next time. My hands are always freezing from the wet.

And guess what? More rain right through to next week:(

    Here's one for you:
A recently passed soul was at judgement. As the line progressed, he could see St. Peter off to the right guiding souls to heaven and on the left was Satan himself supervising his mignons as they guides their captive souls onward, but every so often Satan would grab one and send him over to another area. After a while, the viewer yelled over to ask Satan why he was picking out a select few. Satan replied, "Oh those ones came from Ontario -- they're too wet to burn yet." LOL

    Hay Hay Hay !

I hear you about the Hay ......last Friday we picked up about 200 bales and now were waiting for another sunny break .....hubby found a "deal" about an hour drive away ....Oh Vie !!!
We don't have a barn ...so this year we bought a retired Rig trailer to store hay in ...so far so good...the last two winters we used a plastic car garage ....what a disaster ...it finally blew away this past spring ....
The mud drives me nuts !! Now I know why mud rooms are so popular on farm houses ...I NEED one !!! You forgot about muddy horses !!!
