    Talking Hello from PA!

Hello everyone! I am a 20-something from central Pennsylvania. I have a new quarter horse mare named Mis Jet that I purchased for barrel racing (the mare that inspired my user name, hmm, I wonder what color she is ). She is still considered green broke so she will be my new prospect. I actually bought her to flip for money to pay for school, but three minutes into my first groundwork session with her I just knew that she was mine to keep. She's 14.2 or 14.3 (don't know for sure and don't really care too much) and bred foundation cow horse six ways to sunday with just the right amount of run thrown in and she is catty as he!! With brains and looks to top it off.
Of course this means that I have to sell my current barrel horse, a little grade buckskin gelding. He's good at barrels but his heart just isn't in it. He much prefers to go for a twenty mile jog out on the trail . But he did barrels because he would do anything to please his proud mama. I've only raced him a few times and I've only had him for a year and a half, but we've been through so much together and he has taught me more in that one sweet year than I ever learned in the ten prior to that. So I will be sad to say goodbye to him in a few weeks, but it's for the best (and I need the money).
I also own a little miniature (or miniature/shetland or miniature/?, no one really knows for sure). His name is Starlight. He's technically an inch or so too big to be a "mini" (10.1), but he looks more like a mini than a pony. He's 14 years old. He and I grew up together. He taught me to ride and now that I've outgrown him I taught him to drive so we can still go on treks around the neighborhood. I also have a 7 year old bay solid paint gelding, Tex, who is the biggest of the herd at 15hh even. I rescued him from an auction and am looking to find him a nice forever home once his basic training is done. I don't really consider him "mine" though.
As I mentioned earlier, I flip horses over summer to pay for school. I am hoping to eventually become a professional trainer, but first I am looking to set up some sort of working student arrangement with my IHSA trainer to gain a little more knowledge and experience. I am hoping to start that when I go back to school this fall.
I have actually been reading this forum for several years now, but I just never made the time to register. I finally decided to stop lurking and make my presence known. Lol.
Ok, wow, that was a lot. I guess I should probably include some pictures now. The only current pictures I have right now are the ones from Mis Jet's sale ad (don't mind the hooves, those have been fixed). They aren't very good, but they will have to do until I get my camera back on Thursday.

    Welcome to the forum!

Mis Jet is a lovely mare. Love how solid she looks. I can bet she'll be a great barrel horse.

Thank you Wild Heart! Yes, she is built quite solid and quite a sweet heart once you get past her mild distrust of people. I can't wait to see what she looks like once I get her conditioned and muscled up.
