Hello from Virginia (:

Hello everybody! I just thought I'd introduce myself. I joined in February but wasn't exactly what you'd call active.
My name is Sam, I've been riding for four years, and I just moved up to Virginia a few months ago. We bought a house with seven acres of land, 3 1/2 of which were already fenced for a pasture. It came with an amazing barn with nine stalls, a wash stall, a tack room, and a utility room. Needless to say, I am one happy person.
As of right now I don't actually own a horse, but we're about to. We went up to a rescue yesterday and we fell in love with a Tennessee Walker named Frosty. We went out to ride him today, and we decided he was coming home with us by the end of this week, and we put a deposit down on him. We're going to have a thirty day trial on him and if he works out, we're going to adopt him (:
I'm also in the process of finding out about free leasing a horse offsite. 10 year old Thoroughbred mare, trained in dressage and perfect for eventing. Needs some tuning up but that's understandable because she hasn't been ridden in a year. We're trying to see if we can free lease for a year and then buy her at the end of that time period at a price we set now. If the owners are willing to lease her out to us, she'll be arriving with Frosty on Friday or Saturday.
That was really long, oh my gosh. I like to talk, if you haven't noticed! But that was my not so short introduction to the boards x]

Did you mean city of Suffolk ? Don't think there is a Suffolk county. If so you are right down 460 from me.
Lets See in your area some interesting organizations,
SEAT southeast area trail riders,
Tidewater horse council,
Wakefield area is starting up cowboy mounted shooting,
Tidewater horse trail is decent close place totrail ride, very expensive though
Petersburg battlefield a bit farther up the rode but only $15 for a annual pass,
I don't know much about the arena side of riding in the area.
