I have recently moved to Florida from New York, I've been living here since 2011. :) I originally lived on Long Island, NY.. but I lived in upstate NY in a small city called Cobleskill, the home of SUNY Cobleskill (Agricultural and Equestrian school). It was the best year of my life, with lots of bale throwing, working on a farm, visits to the barns, horses, goats, and especially the cows!
I would stay with my friend Gabby at her house in Wallkill, and ride her beautiful horse named Mystic, which is where my love for horses really began. Riding Mystic bareback was scary, and exhilarating. I never really pursued my interest until I moved here to FL where I found a facility that is only 8 minutes away from my house. Which is where I am going to be taking my first horseback riding lessons!
I am very excited, and have become obsessed with horses and so ecstatic to finally be around them again. I've already purchased myself some paddock boots (and the facility is renting me a helmet), so I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me before riding? Or just any fun facts to share about horses in general!? I've been trying to nail breed types and I've been reading my The Horse Lover's Bible every night and though it's helping a lot, I wanted to pick some more peoples brains! (Seeing as how I picked my horse friends brains to death about horses already!)
So guys! Any pro tips? Anything at all? It'd be much appreciated, after all. <3
