My name is Raie, I'm 22 and live in Middle Tennessee. I grew up on a SSH and TWH breeding farm. My family has recently gotten out of breeding and now are "retired". I've shown a few horses over the years, but I've never been into it. I ride bareback, and am a trail rider at heart, and love to poke around the farm.
My personal horse is a 15 year old black, 14.2hh TWH mare named Zyanya. She's had a rough past. She was a padded horse for over a decade. She's bounced from one barn to the next, and in one, maybe more than one, of those barns...she was abused. When I first got her I couldn't get near her. She would shake if she felt cornered, and the whites of her eyes would show the entire time I was handling her. When she was on the cross ties, she wouldn't move a muscle...not even to swish at a fly. She would also flinch or tuck her butt if I moved too quickly. Someone had also done something horrible to her left ear (twitching maybe). She wouldn't let me near it for nothing. After months and months of working together, she is a completely different mare.
She foaled on Oct 29th. I named the foal A Chance to Fly, and call her Chance. I plan on giving Chance the life that Zy should have had to begin with.
