    Hi

Hi everyone! My name is Kate (as suggested by my username, lol). I live in what they call Music City, a.k.a. Nashville, TN.

Quite honestly, I don't have a horse. I used to lease a Polish Arabian named Tristan (he was my first horse) and excercise my friend's mare Fancy. Then my parents decided we needed to move 800 miles away (we were in Florida at the time). Needless to say I had to give up Tristan and stop riding Fancy.

Which brings me to now. One year later and still no horse to lease, no stable to take lessons at, zip. Problem being that there are two stables in my area neither of which have openings (I'm not in the actual city, I'm in a tiny suburb), and I can't find a lease. Buying is out of the question (I won't go into that).

On a lighter note, more about me... I'm 17 years old, in the 12th grade at a regular run of the mill high school. (So close to graduation I can almost taste it.) Dogs age my other love in life. Before moving I rehabilitated abused Pit Bulls (you wouldn't believe some of the things people do to them). In the end myself and the people I worked with adopted out some 18 dogs in a year. Not to bad considering Pit Bulls undeserved image. I don't have a Pit Bull myself as my dad doesn't want a big dog, but I do have a sweet little mongrel named Maggie. She used to come out to the barn with me, and the horses loved her. She did have a bad reputation with the chickens though.

So that's me in a nutshell. I'm glad to have found a nice forum to hang out and talk about horses in.
