I've utilized the forum for several weeks as a source of information and opinions as I've done research looking for my second horse. She is purchased and safely home with me and I am thrilled with the great information I found here and am really excited to join your community!
My heart horse, Chance, is a lovely grade Quarter Horse mare, as bright sorrel as a copper penny, and a retired barrel racer (under her previous owner) so she can turn ridiculously tight and run fast enough to take your breath away! I live on the beach and, even at 25 years old, there is nothing she likes better than to tear down that long stretch of clear sand. She is also a smart and courageous trail horse, and an overall delight to ride, but in the last six months, I decided I was ready for a new challenge in my equine lifeand began researching my dream breed: the Friesian.
The stars aligned and my family and I found a gorgeous young Anton 343 (love that hair) mare, and the two of us clicked. We decided it was time to make our Friesian dreams come true and worked things out to bring her home, and I am truly the luckiest girl in the world! Zetha, (pronounced Zayta), is bred to Anne 340 for a May foal, so I will have the privilege of helping this lovely mare raise and train a foal! Every day I am being shown that my new darling has the best the Friesian breed has to offer in terms of both brains and beauty, the girl has grace, power, intelligence, curiosity, and is incredibly trainable...she's an absolute doll to work with! (Can you tell I am in love?)
While horses have been a part of my life forever, and Chance has been with me for twelve years, raising a foal is a first, and I am certain even Zetha's continued training (next up: dressage) will present new challenges all the time! I am so excited to have found this forum filled with passionate, knowledgeable people to whom I can turn for horsey advice. That is, if you don't mind?
Looking forward to meeting you all, and sharing our love of our beautiful creatures!
