Hi everyone! Just joined. Student horse owner here!

Hehe yep. My name is Devon and I'm a computer science major. I just joined this forum because I'm always looking to ask questions about horses. I used to ride a lot when I was a little girl but a few years without a horse and school have made me a bit rusty. Long story short, I wound up with a quirky 13 YO Arabian mare. I used to ride her a lot in 2009, but my living conditions changed and she went to live with my mum for a year. I got her back in January and after working on her a bit, I rode her for the first time in over a year today. :) She did great. I had to remind her that we were just walking at times but she didn't try to take me on a gallop!

I would still call myself a beginner rider just because I don't have a lot of experience of riding with me being an actual adult but I'm hoping to change that this year and spend a lot more time with my mare now that I have her back. It took a while to build up our trust again but she is now to the point where she rubs on me after a lunge, seeing if I want her to do anything else.

Here's a picture of her from early last year when she still lived on a field. It's sooo hard to get a picture of her when she's clean if she's in a field lol she will just find any puddle of mud and roll in it.
