Hello all! Some of you may remember me as Danny's mom. Sadly, we weren't able to keep him at our barn with his recurring colic bouts, and found him a quiet, laid back retirement barn where he can be out as much or as little as he likes! No more pressure to work or be stuck inside too often. He's now doing great and is healthy and happy!

So, we now have a new addition to our family. I started leasing Zee after Danny left, while I was shopping for another horse. Every time we went to look at a horse for sale, I'd think, "Do I really want to stop leasing Zee for this horse?" or "What will I do when Zee is sad that I've brought a new horse to the barn and stopped paying attention to him?" Then I'd cry, so we realized that Zee was the horse for me!! His very attached owner had no intention of ever selling him, but realized she didn't have time to care for all three of her horses, and he needed to be put back to work. So, she agreed and now he's part of the family!!

He's on his way to getting back in shape and we're hoping to do the local winter schooling series, starting in one month!

Yeah I was wondering about that...he is substantial, but not in the usually chunky paint style. He is gorgeous! What are you going to be doing with him?

He's going to be my pleasure horse and do local hunter schooling shows. He was a made hunter in his day, but we're not sure yet how much jumping he'll be able to handle. He still gets super excited when he sees a jump in front of him, and so far (at 18" crossrails) he's been totally point and shoot. I'm hopeful he might do 2' again. His last owner bought him when he was 10, and paid more than I could ever dream of paying for a horse. I can't image what he'd still be like today if he had been kept in regular work. But, then again, I probably wouldn't have been able to afford him!

Yeah, Danny is doing great. He's all the way down in Delaware, but he has a 16 yr old girl who worships him and takes him on trail rides a few days a week. He's got it made! Zee couldn't be a more perfect match for me, and he seems to be pretty happy with his new life with us!
