My name is Amanda. I am 26yrs old; living in Southern California with my family. I currently own one horse named Mya. She is a sweet sorrel Quarter Horse mare. I do not know her exact age as I bought her at auction and was told she was 10yrs old...then the Vet said she is at least 15yrs old.
Either way she is a wonderful horse. She does have her mood swings from time to time..and likes being lazy as well. But she still has that spunk in her.
I would consider myself a beginner/average rider. I am not completely green anymore. But I would not say I am advanced. Good thing for me is that Mya is so patient with me..Im sure she rolls her eyes at me from time to time..but she doesnt show it.
Eventually I would like to compete in barrels and poles. Mya is not interested at all, so I am using her to perfect my seat and become a better rider so I can advance to a more advanced horse. Basically Mya likes to walk, with the occasional trot, But the plan is to keep her in the family for my husband to learn to ride as well as bringing my 3yr old daughter into riding.
Right now I am motivated to become a very good bareback saddle rider..I would like to dabble in other seats as well. I would like to try jumping. I see no harm in learning different seats. I look at is as, it will make me a better rider.
Well I could go on and on..but I will save that for another time.
