    Hi there from Weaverville NC...

Hi everyone. My name is Amanda and I have loved horses since the first time I rode when I was 6 years old. My first equine was a grey shetland pony named Tammy Joe that I got for my 7th birthday when we moved to Texas and she was the perfect first horse when we moved back to NC we had to sell her. I had her for two years. When we moved back to NC my Uncle that lived beside us had a mustang mix that I was allowed to ride he taught me how to hold as he was always an adventure to ride. LOL For my 16th birthday when all my other friends wanted cars I wanted a horse. I rescued/bought a young Quarter Horse named Sunshine (Sunny) from an abusive neighbor she was so skinny you could see every bone in her body my mom and dad tried to get me to get a different horse but I insisted we get her. I was told she was 3 years old but our vet said she was 2 at the oldest and the idiot that had owned her had been riding her and raceing her against dirt bikes. The first 6 months I did not even ride her I just earned her trust and got her healthy again. She became like a puppy dog following me around the pasture like a dog. LOL She was awsome and turned into a beautiful firey chestnut. Then as a senior in high school my mom and dad both got hurt at work and I had to use the money I made working to help the family instead of take care of her so I made the very hard decision to sell her. Then when I was 21 I owned a QH paint, and a palamino Mustang with a very abusive ex husband that sold both of my horses without me knowing just to hurt me. Since then I have not owned a horse but I have rode a few. I am currently looking to purchase a gaited horse due to a back injury but I am haveing a hard time decideing on a particular breed so here I am looking for advise. Sorry its so long but I wanted everyone to know a little about me.
