How to get the most out of HF

Seems to me that different users of HF have very different experiences depending on how their introduction and first month goes.

There are so many helpful knowledgeable people on here that always seem happy to help with any sort of question, making this forum a wonderful resource for any horse owner/lover.

I find it very interesting to see that most 'new users' instantly love the site and become morbidly addicted (myself included). Others however don't always have the same result, usually due to some misrepresentation of facts. Of course the drawback to having so many knowledgeable and informed people on here is that inconsistencies in stories become apparent very quickly.

Just a shout out to everyone, if you are going to post your story/question/thought, be honest as it really encourages more of a welcoming spirit and positive responses from everyone. I think the more happy users we have on this site, the better it is!

P.S. There have been numerous threads of this nature that I have noticed in the last couple of weeks, some of which caused the OP to not use this forum anymore. Just to clarify that this thread is not directed at anyone in particular.

All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

Agreed, Sarah.

This isn't a fantasy role playing site, this is an honest, for real, horse BB where we can share our experiences and information.

There are plenty of places to fantasy role play, but this isn't one of them. I say if someone wants to create a different life for themselves than the one they're really living, I think a sim game would be their best bet.

Those of us who actually live, love, eat, breathe, sleep, and ride horses don't like it when we're trying to be taken for a bunch of stupid, ignorant fools.

Keep it real folks, or keep it off the BB please!

Well said SR. I guess my point is that people on here are from all different backgrounds, have varying levels of ability/knowledge and have aspirations to achieve different goals. And that is just fine.

So there is no shame in being a beginner whose biggest goal is how to rise to the trot or sit properly to a canter. Likewise there is no pressure to be perceived as the next Olympian or WEG champion.

People here are just horse lovers, plain and simple - love to hear and share stories as long as they don't feel like they are being taken for a ride. So to speak.

All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.
