    Howdy, from Alabama!

    Hello!

My name is Brittany (Britt) and I live in Alabama.
I'm 18 years old and completely obsessed with horses! I'm lucky enough to own two Tennessee Walking horses of my very own. I trailride, and don't compete or show or anything... I'm just a back country horse rider and owner! My mare is my main riding horse at the moment... however, right now I'm not riding her at all because she got a little sick earlier this year and lost a lot of weight (partly due to needing her teeth floated, but also because this winter was extremely hard on her). Anyway, my girl is 14 years old. She's a grade Tennessee Walker (named Gypsie) and is my favorite color of horse... a bay! My other horse is a gelding. He's my mare's colt and is two years old. He's also a bay and is also a grade Tennessee Walker.

Here's a link to a picture of my two horses and me. My colt is on the left, I'm in the middle (obviously) and my mare is on the right.

Since I'll be posting a lot about all these horses, I'll go ahead and name the rest that I know...

We aso own four other horses. All of them are not registered. My uncle David owns a 20 year old red and white painted Racking Horse mare called Buttercup. My older cousin Sissy owns a 6 year old black and white painted Racking Horse mare called Patch. My younger cousin Whitney owns two horses; a 3.5 year old chestnut Quarter Horse/Racking Horse cross mare called Ginger and Ginger's yearling filly, also a chestnut Quarter Horse/Racking Horse cross named Trouble (or Nugget... she goes by both)... (just for the record, the mare's pregnancy was not planned... we didn't even own Ginger when she was bred).

My other uncle (Mann) owns a grade Arabian mare called Nightmare. She's not trained to ride or anything, and she was pretty much a 'rescue' in a sense. We're not sure how old she is, but she's a bay and is extremely flighty... she pretty much just lives an undisturbed life of freedom out in her own pasture.

My older cousin Tamara owns a grade Arabian gelding named Mo. He's 21 years old and is a bay. He's the sweetest horse and one of the prettiest horses in the world... (in my opinion). We used to own him, but we gave him to her last year.

My other older cousin, Chris owns a 4 year old black grade Racking Horse/Quarter Horse cross gelding named Skeeter. He's Trouble's sire.

Sit tight, there's just a few more...

One of my younger friends owns two horses. She (Shanna) owns a SHORT grade 4 year old (my two year old colt is WAY taller than this horse) crazy black Racking Horse cross gelding called 'Shorty'... (his name should be 'spaz'). She also owns a HUGE 9 year old chestnut grade Quarter Horse mare called 'Tundra'.

My best friend Hannah and her family owns horses too. Hannah owns a grade sorrel 8 year old Saddlebred/Arabian/Quarter Horse mare called Flicka. She's very pretty and is extremely photogenic. Hannah's older brother Dustin owns a dark bay/black Quarter Horse mare called Baby. I'm not sure if she's registered or not, and I'm not sure of her age... Baby is very timid, but a cool horse. Hannah and Dustin's mother Kyla owns a grade 5 year old black Quarter Horse gelding called Bailey. He's a good horse... very responsive to leg cues, but he likes to run and you've got to watch him or he'll toss in a few HUGE bucks. Hannah's uncle owns a little bay roan grade pony called Molly... I'm not sure of her age. She'll pull a plow, but doesn't know how to ride.

And finally there's the man who owns the sire to my colt. He breeds and sells horses, and owns quite a few that I won't bother naming... you're probably tired of reading this anyway. Lol. So, tata... I'll talk to you all later!

    Hey Britt,

I"m in N.E. Alabama as well. In Gadsden as a matter of fact. Latest count I own 6 horses. 2 QH mares, 1 TW filly, 1 QH filly, 1 QH stud and an 8 yr old racking horse I bought last week. Both mares are expecting so we have 2 babies in march. I think I might know your cousin Sissy. Did she work in Gadsden at one time?
