    I need help!!

My name is Heather. I am a member of a struggling western riders club. Looking for suggestions on how to boost membership, participation, and funds. I enjoy being a member, but i'm afraid it will flop if we don't do something soon.

    Welcome to the forum!

I think you will need to give a bit more information about this club before anyone can help you. There are lots of friendly and knowledgeable people on this forum, I'm sure they will have plenty of ideas.

    Good luck,

Make sure you are advertising. Craigslist is a pretty good way to get the word out that you are *not* a private club and that you are a fun-focused group of people who happen to love horses.

Our riding clubs best turn out is for a poker ride. Anyone can participate and it benefits the club. You just need a mile or two of trail and a few decks of cards. We do a $10 buy in and split it 50/50. We also offer a second hand for $5. Most people do two hands. 50 riders, $750 total collected $375 for your club. Its fun, takes little to no skill and everyone has a blast. All you need is about 10 volunteers who can rotate taking turns riding the poker ride also. We usually have close to 200 riders.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Love Corino's idea.

What types of things does your club do now? Western riding means different things to different people, can you narrow it down? Pleasure riding, show, games?

    Yearling
You can do a scavenger hunt on horse back where anyone can participate and it benefits the club. If you have a place with trails you can set up clues around the trails. And people will go around in teams and find everything on their list. Then you can have a little after party with food and drinks and have raffles. And all the proceeds can go to the club.
