    New Appy Lover from Kansas

I grew up showing appaloosas, and my family raised them. We used to have eight or nine babies every year, and when I hit third grade, it was up to me to halter break them. I loved that! I have the most experience with Western and gaming classes, but I did a little hunt seat (just the flat work). I've done sidesaddle a couple of times, and I think that is really fun.

I'll have to figure out how to post pictures, because I have a good one that was taken at one of our National shows. There are six horses, each one by our stud, that competed at that show, and every one placed in the top ten.

My proudest show-related moment was placing ninth in showmanship at Nationals as a youth. I think there were forty-some kids in that class, and it was tough. I had placed higher than that in some other events, but that one was really important to me.

So, hello, and sorry I'm so long winded,

That's awesome! Right now, we have my mom's two trail riding horses, my show gelding, and my niece's barrel/pole horse. We also have a mare that was started, but developed a bucking problem, and I need to find someone to ride her. =(

Yea. My gelding had a bad bucking problem... it took me a year to get him "unsoured" from the trainers who messed with him. He is now a very succesful cutting/cow horse.

@eventerdrew, thank you for the welcome!

@Cowgirl140ty, I'm glad you got him over it and turned him into a successful horse!
