Smile New to the forum :)

Hello everyone :)

My name is Kym and I am new to the forum! I currently live with my partner and our Guinea Pigs/Piggles :)

I am a massive fan of horses and hope to have one of my own in the near future. My partners mother owns two of her own (in stoke) and I have been fortunate enough to spend time with them and go riding with her. As we now live in Northampton contact with the horses is few and far between.

I thoroughly enjoy horse riding but don't feel that I can connect with the horses at the centre. I am not a confident rider and feel that being able to connect with a horse of my own would have major benefits. I know that having a horse is a lifetime commitment and so I need to be sure that I know my stuff and have everything it may need. I have lots of questions and was hoping that I may be able to seek help here on the forum. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Kym.

Welcome!

Weird that you don't connect with the horses at the centre..... I've never heard anyone feeling that way...

Hi,

Thank-you for welcoming me :) I was involved in an accident a while back where I was thrown. Nothing too serious but ever since I have felt uncomfortable with horses around 16hh. I know it sounds silly and it does irritate me but I can't help it. I always get paired up with the tallest horse at the riding school and so I find it hard to bond.

Ah, a little bit intimidated then. I don't blame you. You should talk to your coaches or have your parents talk to them. If you don't feel comfortable, then something needs to change.

Hopefully after the talk they put you on shorter horses and you can work on your confidence! :)
