Hey guys. I'm new here. Don't know what to say really, other than I'm finishing up college for a degree in Medical Laboratory Science, and am in my internship.
I got my first horse in 2003, in my mid-teens. I had ridden a Paso Fino mare two summers before, and had fallen in love with the mare. However, the owners took her back to their house 2 hours away, but they said I could breed her and keep the foal for the cost of the vet bills, stud fee, and a small mare fee. Needless to say, on May 16, 2003, for around $650, I got Mi Sueno Viene Verdad (My Dream Come True), aka Dream, who matured into a 14H chestnut mare.
I did all of Dream's ground work, and then had 30 days of pro training. Then, I went to college and she sat for 2 years. However, when she was 5, I brought her to college with me and working with the trainer at the boarding stable, we trained Dream. It took a lot of patience, but now we are the perfect team. We compete in pole bending and keyhole, as well as other games and some barrel racing. I couldn't ask for a better horse.
Here's two photos of Dream:
So, other than that, I don't have much to say, other than I love animals, have a lot of freshwater fish, and I did gymnastics for 16 years, and I am looking into getting another project horse now that Dream is pretty much a push button horse. Tomorrow I'm looking at a big solid 3 year old Paint mare.
Pleasure to meet you all! :)
