Just thought I would introduce myself as I am a new member on this site. Im currently a 24 year old stay at home mommy married to an awesome man who puts up with all my animals and we have a handsome, funny, outgoing one year old son who makes me smile everyday. I am very thankful that I was fortunate enough to be raised with horses and have them as a big part of my life and am able to continue to have them as an adult. I currently have 2 little mares. Mother and daughter. Maxi is 21 this year and has been my best friend for the past 12 years. Our start together was a little rocky as she had been a western pleasure horse sitting in pasture for many years before I got my hands on her. Turned that little mare into a gaming horse and achieved many goals and won many awards. She loved her job and put all her heart into it. The little 14h horse out ran many horses twice her size. Sadly, this past year I decided to retire her from gaming for her own safetly and she is now my trusty trail horse (although she still tries to convince me to let her run some barrels). Five years ago, Maxi provided me a little red head fireball of a horse who in everyway attitude wise resembles her mother. Her name is Tiki. I started her myself but we have had to take time off here and there from injuries and my pregnancy but thankfully she's a smart one and we were always able to pick up where we left off. I started her in barrels this year and we are just starting to add speed to the pattern. I have high hopes for the little girl as her mom has set the bar pretty high. I also have a miniature horse, Rio, who is 13. I showed Rio in in hand trail courses and some showmanship and started him in some driving. He wasnt a big fan and hated the show arena. He's been just standing around in pasture for the last 6 years getting fat. Now he gets to play with and give kisses to my son and eventually be a horse my son can learn basic ground skills with.
Besides gaming, I enjoy trail riding, camping with the horses at the beach and lakes, and I would like to get into doing more cow work, however my area doesnt seem to offer a whole lot of cow events anymore.. :(
Anywho, that's pretty much me in a nut shell. My life doesnt really involve much more than that. Lol. Sorry this seems to have gotten long.. Hope to talk to some of you soon! :)
