I am just getting back into horses after being away for several years and raising my family. I have 4 boys (oldest in college and youngest in 5th grade) and all are interested in varying degrees. Lol We are in Indiana. I took riding lessons for years and read every thing I could get my hands on. From Walter Farley to Riding Logic.
We got our first horse 3 weeks ago and I am so in love with him already. It was a perfect match. He is a 16 year old tobiano gelding. Registered as half Arab and Pinto. He comes from Iowa and the breeders use the name Pandemonium on their horses.
He is in rough shape, 100 pounds underweight, feet need work, ect. I had his shoes off and him trimmed. Wormed him too. We are working on getting his weight up and gently riding him.
Bravo Pandemonium as a Yearling (I found this pic of him on the breeder's website)
Bravo now with my 12 year old, Kiernan about a week after we got him.
Then we have been given a registered Paint 8 year old mare named West Bound Lexus. She is bred for speed and was trained for barrels. We are working on slowing her down to be a pleasure horse. She also hasn't been ridden in 4 years so it will be a challenge some days I am sure.
We just brought Lexie home last Thursday. We had to move to a new boarding place.
I am a stay at home mom. I showed dogs for years. I started with Dalmatians and then went to Papillons.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
