Smile New to the Pasture!

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. I've been lurking around Horse Forum, reading the various posts for about a week and thought I'd finally join in on all the fun.

I've loved horses since I was a toddler, but never got the opportunity to start riding until ten months ago. So I'm a "grown up" now and a little late in the game, but better late than never! I don't have my own horse, but maybe in a few years when I have more experience I'll consider buying one. For now, I take hunter jumper lessons every week and have my very first W/T show in two weeks!

That's the jist of it! I just wanted to say hello and that I look forward to talking with everyone!

Welcome mouse,

So nice of you to join us formally. Love your avatar name!
I don't own a horse either, but have been leasing for 10 years. I know, time I buy .

Welcome to the forum Mouse!

Lucky me, I was raised around horses and have been riding seriously for about 10 yrs. I recently purchased an Appaloosa mare (Daisy) and she is the light of my life!

I think you will enjoy it here!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Tinyliny - Thank you! Leasing for ten years? That doesn't sound so bad actually! Especially when you consider all the extra experience you'd get from riding so many different horses.

Lonestar - Awww! The first horse I ever rode as a kid was an Appaloosa named Trooper, so I've always had a soft spot for Appys.

it is true that leasing has afforded me the chance to ride different horses over the years.
