Hi everyone, thought I'd introduce myself a little, about a month ago I bought a 10 year old gelding quarter horse. He is a well broke cow/ranch horse that I bought for use in the mountains for pleasure riding and hunting/packing. I took him on a cattle drive with some friends to see how he does. He is a laid back, nothing really bothers him type of horse. He has a couple little issues, seems to be a little lazy, likes to eat when riding so takes a few nudges to get going, and is still testing the waters with me. I am in the process of going with the natural trim to see if that will work for me in the mountains. I have some questions regarding the transition period that I'll post in another thread. Thanks.
