A Proper Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Chelsey and I'm a 21 year old from Indiana! I originally joined Horse Forum a few years ago, but have rediscovered it recently and will hopefully be able to ask and answer some questions, as well as participate in this horse loving community!
I always loved horses, and finally got one when I was 10. However, he wasn't very well trained and after being bucked off a few times, I got scared of horses and gave up on them. I still always wanted another one, and finally, in 2009, I got back in the saddle, so to speak.
I currently have three horses but I still consider myself a beginner. For a while, I was lucky if I was even riding once a month because I still have some confidence issues from my first horse, and I am also busy with college and work. My family is very non-horsey, so my boys are totally up to me, and since I've never had any lessons my riding methods likely aren't very proper, but I'm trying to improve! Last summer, I finally worked up the nerve to show my Quarter Horse, which was very fun! We showed in Halter and Trail competition. After saving up for a while I was finally able to buy my own horse trailer this year, so I'm hoping this summer to get into showing even more. I am trying to ride at least once a week now, I'm doing quite a bit of bareback riding, and I look forward to getting thoughts and opinions from people on these message boards whenever I have questions.
These are my three boys.

This is Rhett (named after Rhett Butler from Gone With The Wind lol.) He is a 14 year old gelding but we are unsure of his breed. He is a trail horse extraordinaire. If he sees even the smallest gap between trees and you guide him there, he will blaze his own trail. He is a really funny horse to be around. For some cool pictures of how much his roan coat changes over the course of a year, check out my forum post here: http://www.horseforum.com/horse-colors-genetics/much-debate-over-color-my-horse-156404/

This is Apolo, my 14 year old Quarter Horse. (He's named after Olympian Apolo Ohno.) I ride him a lot more often than I ride Rhett, because he's more laid back about doing anything (Rhett is all trails, trails, trails, Apolo doesn't mind parades, shows, etc.) I absolutely love this horse. He is so easy going and really helps me out, even when I make mistakes. I really couldn't ask for a sweeter horse than him.

This is Benny the Mini. He's a little 7 year old troublemaker. ;) lol He is a companion for my big horses since I often take them out one at a time when I ride. He's really more like a dog than a horse personality wise. I love training him, and we are working on learning some tricks right now. Oh, and as you can tell, he likes playing dress up with me. Hahaha
So hello to all you horse lovers out there! I look forward to talking to you guys!
-Chelsey

I guess that I should also mention that the way I got back into horses was by rescuing a very tall Thoroughbred from slaughter. He proved to be too much for me to handle, but I'm happy to say he's at a great home now and I still get to go visit him. I learned so much from him too! This is Jukka.
