My name is Amy. I am 22. I live in BC, Canada. I grew up riding mostly Arabs and Drafts/Draft crosses, and started riding as soon as I could walk. I have a boyfriend whom I have been with for 5.5 years and he also loves horses and rides as well. In my spare time I enjoy photography, but hardly ever have spare time anymore so haven't had the chance to take proper photos lately.
I have two currently. My pony Angie (Welara), she is 13.3h, and I have had her 9 years this summer. We've dabbled in a bit of everything, but her heart is in the speed classes (barrels, jumpers). We've done a fair bit of trail riding together as well. She gets quite hot though and came back into "real" work last May so we've done a bit of jumping recently but I can be a bit of a nervous rider sometimes so even though we're both experienced jumpers I have trouble trusting her over fences at times, lol. We'll get back to where we were eventually.
My other mare is Beverley (TB), I have had her for 2 years in spring. She's honestly my dream come true. I never thought I'd be so lucky as to have a horse like her. Beverley is 17.3h and bum high so I am expecting her to reach ~18h ..never in a million years did I expect that. She was 16.3h when I bought her. I moved straight up from Angie to her so that itself was a huge jump. She's definitely got the "gentle giant" syndrome. I had a nasty fall off her in 2011 and it has taken quite some time for my confidence to come back with her (and in general), so thankfully Beverley is nothing but calm calm calm. We are (eventually) aiming for the hunter ring. She is more than ready for the show ring and has been for some time, but I have had personal setbacks along the way so we're taking it easy and letting it happen when it happens. That being said, I do have huge goals for us as a team, but only when we're ready. =)
My apologies in advance for picture quality, all have been taken from my phone because I have absolutely no time to take proper pictures anymore, and don't trust anyone with my nice camera lol.
