My name is Cassian, I'm 19 years old and I'm from the north-eastern part of Romania, Bukowina. I'm part Greek, part Ukrainean, both nations having a long tradition in riding.
I was attracted to horses, but not fanatic about them. I thought they are nice looking and that's all. My mother loved horses though, but she was afraid of them. Also, my great grandmother's father might had been a cossack and my grandfather was also a rider. Neither my father or my mother rode so starting to ride as a hobby seemed out of context. The one who showed me how wonderful horses really are was my girlfriend, Anouk, who also is registered on this forum as Jierda. She taught me how to ride and still does, as I'm a beginner rider (just two days of previous experience), but I'm natural at it and I learn fast.
I was always fascinated with history and its warlike aspects, especially cavalry, so riding fits me as a glove, especially because I'll get to try a few things on my own.
I'm willing to learn as much as possible about riding and horses in general and want to become a farrier sometimes. A good farrier.
Until then, I'll keep an eye on the forum and share stories as my learning progresses.
Best wishes to all of you!

EDIT: pic of me from the second day of riding. Not my horse
