I'll give you a bit of a history on Jesse and I. The first time I rode him he was six years old and I was eight. After a while my mom bought him for us. I did mostly hunter jumpers on him and she did dressage. I wasn't strong enough so I had to use a kimberwick when I rode him. Then I got bored with hunters and started doing dressage again. About two years ago he "figured me out" and would take advantage of me so I got a different horse. Just last we had to put that horse down because he broke a bone in his knee so I just started riding Jesse.
The thing is that he wasn't really worked the year before and that spring my mom tore her ACL ligament and couldn't ride him any more. So I had to bring him back into shape.
He was stiff and very heavy in my hands so we started lessons. He seemed to gradually get better. Now we are going for 1st level.
I will tell you of what happened today. I had a lesson so I go out as usual and groom him and tack him up. I noticed he is actually getting thin (weird). I go to warm up and he is super forward (he's usually the opposite). I start to bring him round going left and it honestly feels like I'm trying bend a board. We do alot of bendy stuff then I change rein and it was the weirdest feeling (usually he's pretty good on the right) it was like the left side was a board and the right was soft. But I have to go so I will continue this tomorrow.
