My book of riding lessons

Hi everyone!

I decided that I would like to keep a journal about my riding lessons, what I did in them and what I improved in. Most lesssons usually have problems in them so please give your idea on how I could fix it :)

Today I was riding Piper who I have started to fall in love with. I grromed him and when I was done I wasn't sure if my sweater was black or white Anyways, I tacked him up and we were ready to go in. After we mounted, we started the Easter Egg hunt! We walked around and collected eggs. I got around 5 I think, but Daniel got 20 something and Elyse 4. Too bad I couldn't get Pipers butt in . Well, I didn't really care much about chocolate anyways.

We picked up our posting trot and Piper was being such a good boy! He got into all of his corners and kept an amazing pace. I got a lot of compliments about my position and Pipers corners but I relly owe it to Piper for being such an amazing boy that day. We mostly just did posting and sitting trot, nothing special today because the time was taken up by the egg hunt .

Now Daniel and I picked up the canter. This time, he was the one getting compliments and I was just there On the right rein, Piper was still being a good boy and I got him into most of his corners but I lost my stirrup once. The other way though. I WAS A MESS This way, Piper always has a SUPER fast canter that I can't control somedays. Today was one of those days. I got really nervous and I was trying to keep my heels down and half halt him. It didn't work. I nearly crashed into another horse and almost went over a jump that was WAY to big for me . I need tips on keeping a more controlled canter please!

We went over two white crossrails. The first time I got a refusal but then I got him over. In the end we did a course. He was actually an amazing boy for this, and the second time was really good.

We cooled out at the end and I groomed adn untacked him. I had to take him out to the farthest field in the wetness and it was gross! I stayed after and swept the barn, helped the beginner lesson untack, and roll wraps .

Thanks for reading!

They say home is where the heart is. That must mean my home is ontop of an Angel getting ready to fly.
