I have been having a hard time most recently, my little was killed while the horse hauler I hired was loading her and they are refusing to take responsibility - it is truly one of the worst times of my life ( the worst being when I lost my mother ). I just finished talking with my lawyer and so I went out to muck out my horses stalls ( sometimes that makes me feel better ) and I had my breakdown - could not stop crying! Then something amazing happened.....my beautiful, gentle quarter horse, Olive, came over to me and put her head beside mine and nuzzled my tears away! She stood there with me for a half an hour or so before I finally got myself together......then I realized that I need to be grateful for what I have and do whatever I can to protect the lives of all horses that are vulnerable to the cruelty and inexperienced care of some horse transport companies. I guess I have had a pretty sheltered life and being exposed to such arrogance and lack of compassion has thrown me for a loop......but I am going to fight for my little filly, and other horses, so this does not happen to another family. Please go and hug your horses!!!
