    A Series of Unfortunate Events!

    Well, here it is June 15th (my Birthday), and I am sitting on the comp when I should be riding!! Long story short, on June 1st after a great ride with a couple friends, AND only the 2nd ride in my long awaited western saddle *which I love*....as the title say's....a series of unfortunate events I ended up having my foot broken and crushed by my horse stepping on it and then spinning off and running after an impromptu fight with a lunging gelding on the other side of the fence. And of course my luck developed a hematoma, which of course got infected,even tho no skin was broken, due to swelling and my blood vessels and tendons being crushed, is actually breaking thru the top of my foot, so I have a blister type wound that fills up and drains over and over....arghhhh!!! Let's just say that this is an extremely crappy day for me!!! I have been to the doctor every 2 days for 2 weeks now and am about going outta my mind!!! I just wanna ride!! I don't know how I am going to make it thru this without losing my mind!!!

    Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. Had something similar happen a couple years ago. A 4 yr. Old gelding fell with me and rolled over my foot/ankle, crushing them. I'm a working mom with 3 kids, hubby was out of town for 2 wks, not good...... I was on crutches for about 2 1/2 mos....... therapy for a couple after that.

    Hang in there, keep that foot elevated! I would put my cast in a plastic bag, have hubby hoist me up on my horse and then we would just walk around our neighborhood to get me out of the house. Sorry you are stir crazy.

    Catch up on any movies you've missed, plan elaborate menus for future meals, watch trash TV!
