Soooo...I have been wanting to start one of these for a long time now. So here it is!
A bit of backround - I have three horses. Sheena, Grace, and Johnny..well..two really. Johnny is my mom's, and he is the spawn of satan.
I got Grace (13 year old, 16.3h TB mare) last June. She was very thin and came from a sporthorse dealer. Not the best situation, but I could tell we were meant for each other. I have no idea why I was so attracted to her; she was pretty ugly when we went to check her out, but I think it was her movement. Even with little weight and muscle she moved like an angel. Now she has all of her weight back, and we are starting our lives together. I am hoping to event her Beginner Novice this tear, and go onto Novice and Training once she is ready.
I have had Sheena aka Bean (18 year old, 14.2h Arab x Welshie) for 7 years. She was our first horse and she is awesome. She started out s a trail horse, then once I started riding her, I switched to Hunters, then finally we found our true calling - EVENTING!! Our first event was Elementary level (2') and we came second. Last year we went Beginner Novice and got second also...well..it was really a tie for first. The tie-breaker was the collective marks. The other girl had one more point than me. It was an amazing day and I couldn't have been more proud of her.
Johnny...where to begin? He is an evil little monkey face. He has an attitude like no other and knows how to use it. He is my mom's trail pony but I do alot of work with him to make him OK for mom to ride. At the moment we are dealing with random rearing fits...(He is a 12 year old, 14h, 100% Foundation QH)

Was going to ride Grace this morning but the stupid sky decided to rain just enough to make the grass in my riding area too slippery for my liking. So I took Bean out on a trail ride. We got lost, ran into trees, slipped in mud..you know the fun trail riding stuff! On the way back she was a total disaster. Just going like totally wild. I took a stop at a field about 1/2 mile from the trail and worked her for a bit, trotting circles and figure eights. She chilled out a little, but not a whole lot. She is just getting back into work so I understand...kinda.
I have a clinic with an eventer from around here on May 20th with Grace that I cannot wait for. It will be my first time riding with this person. I have seen her teach and ride before and she's really good.
That's all for now! I have a feeling I will be writing in here a lot. Hopefully someone will read it!
