Are you still in Ohio by chance? I'm going to the Eric Dierks eventing clinic in march and was wondering if you're going.

Hey, HITS! Do you by chance have a list of the Hunter Paces this summer/fall? Excel's in great shape and I'd like to start getting him out there for eventing. What are the entry fees?

Also, what time is it and what time could you pick my gelding up? What's the entry fee, and is there paperwork I need to have signed? (bring coggins...?) Thanks

That would be great if you could help with trailering! I'd pay my portion of the gas, of course. We'll pay Actually, my eventing prospect is still recovering so I think I'll bring my gaited Paso Fino gelding. He's 23 and only 14.3hh but in great shape and can jump 2'9". If I could be on your team that would be great....hope we don't slow you down much as we're new to this!

I've thought of joining Bath Pony Club, but I'm not sure. I have 6 horses right now on my property (3 are minis, 2 TB's, and a Paso Fino) but the one TB had a racing injury and can't jump, and my 23-yr old Paso can jump 3' but he's gaited...not great for dressage :). Excel, my eventing prospect, is 16.2hh but I've only jumped him 21" until he puts more weight on. Plus he has been having hoof problems since I bought him....first he kept losing shoes, then he needed pads, now an abcess....he should be sound from the abcess within the next couple of days. I might consider bringing him to the Chagrin Hunter pace if he's sound by then, and if I can find someone to trailer him. I'd love more info on that!

Also -- since the mini trials are over now, the hunter paces have been going on...ever been to one of those? GREAT for cross country schooling! Actually Bath Pony Club is having a "haunted" hunter pace (they put spider webs on the jumps and stuff lol) on the 24th of this month...and Chagrin hunter pace is this weekend (Sunday). You should go if you've never been, all you need is a partner, or sometimes you can show up as a single and they'll pair you with another team...I can give you more info if you don't already know about hunter paces :)

Hey awesome to hear about another Eventer prospect in the area! I'm in Copley so right around the corner (I actually board at Ashwood in Wadsworth) :) Do you board are keep your horse at home?

I don't belong to pony club or anything like that, but I do often do this series: Northeast Ohio Mini Trial Series

It's GREAT! and they are Mini Trials so they offer levels as low as "Intro" where your dressage test is just walk/trot and the jumps are only 6-12" high :) I did that my first year (last year) since my horse and I were just learning to show and to jump! This year we did the Very Green division (jumps are 1'6"-2'0") and we got Champion for the series! It's super fun!
