Haven't gone back. I emailed, called and texted her and she never replied. I guess she didn't want to sell him.

Hey there! I saw that ad on Craigslist (not shopping, just wasting time) and thought about you. Glad you are going to go look, he sounds like what you are looking for and a horse your daughter can still grow with and train. Please keep me posted if you don't post on the forum. Happy horse shopping and good luck!

I guess you just have to see what she is like when she goes into heat. Like I said, if our mare is on Mare Magic we don't worry if she goes in heat at shows. She might be a bit distracted but it's nothing Anna can't handle. If the mare is finished then she she knows the drill at shows so it won't be a totally different situation. Lily hasn't been shown tons but she is getting more mellow with each show we go to.

The mare sounds worth looking at. Keep me posted and good luck!

She can be mare-ish, but no specifics really. Someone else who knows her (small town!) said that she can go into heat at shows. Ugh! I'll go look because she is a finished show horse, and she'll give us a trial. We'll see.

Well, we have a mare and she does get pretty unpleasant a couple of days a month if she isn't on mare magic. We take her off this time of year and last night it showed. My daughter went to take her out of the paddock and "put her to bed" and the minute the gate was open Lily bolted and ran right into the barn and straight to her stall! Usually Anna will open the gate and Lily doesn't take a step until her halter is on and Anna gives her the ok to go. We were really surprised but then we saw Lily "winking" we realized that she was indeed in season. Back on the Mare Magic tonight! The stuff works really well with our horse so her mareish behavior is easily controlled. Other than that I wouldn't be too concerned about a mare, I'd own another one in a heartbeat. She is very in-tune with her handler and wants to please. What did the owner say about this mare for that type of thing?

The gal has not called me yet. I don't know if she's in town right now or not. So don't want a mare though...

How goes the horse hunt? Did you go and look at the mare near you?

LOL!! My daughter is the same way - she loves the fair! It seems to be the highlight of her year. Snohomish County has a 2-day junior section and they have both western and english classes over those days. However, it if meant staying an extra day Anna would be all over riding western!! Gotta love truly horse crazy girls, huh?

She's ridden a few times. She just wants to be able to ride every day at fair!
