- Hi I am sorry I did not see this message till now...unfortunately Twiggy, the blue roan pinto filly left this world just before Christman 2011, very suddenly, he got the flu (the 1 vaccine she could not get cause she was too young), and got very sick rapidly, had the vet out every day to tube feed her... we miss her dearly :(
- I still have her. She's a really sweet little girl. She's had some health issues, but nothing she won't survive. We had a horrible outbreak of pidgeon fever in our area. Every single one of our horses came down with it, including Rain. They have all lost a lot of weight, but are slowly gaining it back.
I can't believe she will be two years old this summer! Looks like she will be considerably smaller than we thought she would be, unless she keeps growing for a while. Turns out all of the colts out of her sire turned out small, even though he's a full 16.2HH. She's only about 14HH right now, and that would be pushing it some.
I'll get some pictures of her when she's gained back her weight and doesn't look like a teddy bear.

Posted On: 04-15-2015, 12:12 AMIf it means anything, my vet called my buckskin a cremello when he was born (though in her favor he looked like a pale palomino and only had a tiny bit of black in his tail). The dark blue eyes are...Liked On: 04-15-2015, 12:07 PM

Posted On: 04-15-2015, 10:59 AMHe's definitely just a light palomino. Red based foals have pink skin for the first couple days (or somewhere around that long).Liked On: 04-15-2015, 02:01 AM

Mom does look dunskin or even smokey brown+dun (brown+cream+dun) with that dark face. If there's a more correct term for that I can't think of it at the moment.Liked On: 04-10-2015, 09:51 PM
Posted On: 04-08-2015, 10:27 PMIMO the only horses that should be purposefully bred are the ones with a great disposition and wonderful conformation. There's plenty of them out there and it's worth being picky.. there's no use in...Liked On: 04-09-2015, 01:12 AM
Posted On: 06-08-2014, 05:29 PMTo be completely honest (as any critique should be), she's a bit of a conformational train wreck. I would have never even considered breeding her, however what's done is done. I can only hope that...Liked On: 04-09-2015, 01:11 AM

Posted On: 04-09-2015, 12:00 AMAll of the horses I posted are tested smokey browns. Browns definitely do vary but always have a much more red tone to their light points than the OP horse. This is my smokey brown right now:...Liked On: 04-08-2015, 06:49 PM
Posted On: 04-08-2015, 06:46 PMI'd say smokey brown (brown+cream rather than buckskin which is bay+cream). He's a bit darker than perhaps the classic smokey brown, but nothing unusual, as there tends to be a lot of variation in...Liked On: 04-07-2015, 08:17 PM

Posted On: 02-01-2015, 12:54 PMHere's a perfect example that I just came across of a palomino really similar to this mare. http://i1323.photobucket.com/albums/u596/driftwoodsqhs/palomino2_zpsc975b52f.jpg...Liked On: 01-24-2015, 01:17 AM
Posted On: 01-23-2015, 08:37 PMNope I definitely agree with you, OP. Palomino. Too much of a golden/yellow tone to be a sorrel, plus the tail screams palomino to me. However, I can see why most people would say sorrel. ETA:...Liked On: 01-23-2015, 12:53 AM
