Tiny, I'm fifty-... cough, cough! Only a mom to my horse, though. And dog.

Had an absolutely awesome trail ride today! I had the honor of being trailered with a friend out to a nearby state park. I had no idea they had so many trails there, and old logging roads. Was crystal clear Fall day and just cracked 70 degree and we could see Mt. Rainier towering over the other mountains. The horses were fantastic. Mac isn't in the best of shape but he is so strong and game by nature that he did well. He seemed more bothered by the downhill. My knees started to hurt at 3 hourse in the saddle, so at 3.5 hours, we headed out and I walked that last half mile to stretch out my ancient knees. The boys did so well, never spooking , never tripping. I am in 7th heaven! I will post some photos soon.

Hiya! No, I WISH I was riding today, but I have a BioChem test to study for. Bleh! Have fun on your trail ride and I hope he trailers well for you! I am very sure to take pictures if you can. ;)

I'm so glad your computer is working again! Yay!
Rainy's improved- turns out she had a hoof abscess, so on Friday we started soaking it in epsom saltwater, and it's slowly but surely getting better. Yesterday it started to drain out, so we're having the farrier come out in either tomorrow or Thursday and check it out, see if anything needs to be done as far as shoes or protective boots. :)

Wow that's a big jump! I don't ride drafts exclusively but I only own drafts and prefer to ride drafts. I've been riding since I was 3 so of course it wasn't always an option to ride the larger breeds, in fact I only started on drafts when I was 16 when I started training them for saddle work with a friend of mine. Since I was 10 however I didn't ride anything smaller than 16.2. I prefer the larger horses.

Am I the only middle aged mom out there? I love to hear all these young folks but I am not a 14 year old newbie.
