I have been to your barn before and it is really nice - great arena! We live in Edmonds and rent a stall in Woodway so it would be hard to give up the convenience! As luck would have it we came across a retired dressage trainer who happens to live about 1/2 mile away so she has been working with my daughter and it's been great. You are fortunate that you found a good trainer A trainer that you like and work well with is golden, huh?!

I know how it goes - we cancelled our Oct. show because we just weren't ready. There is a clinic in January that we are planning to audit in Kirkland. It is at KGF Stables with Guenter ----- (i forgot his last name). Do you have any clinics planned? Have you ridden in any clinics? We've never even been to one so it should be interesting to see what they are all about.

We are also going to go to a few schooling shows over the winter so that we are ready for a few real shows this summer. Our budget prevents going to a lot of shows but we'll do what we can. My daughter is also in 4-H so we will be at some of those shows as well.

Hi Klassic - are you still planning on showing this weekend? Unfortunately, we won't be able to come and watch after all, but we'll be cheering for you from afar! We live north of Seattle so it is most of the day to go down there. Where do you board/train? Anyway, I'll watch for a post on how the show went. Good luck and have fun!

Hey Superstar, good luck with your barn situation. I posted something about a crappy barn experience and pretty much met the same animosity as you did. I don't think wanting the peace of mind that your horse is fat and happy while you're away is an unrealistic wish list! Anyway, I do more reading on this forum than posting because I can't seem to get contructive answers. Good luck with your boy, he looks pretty cute from your pick!

I think a lot of people here are full of themselves.
Like you, I post very little on here. and only ad my 2 cents if I feel it contributes.
I think people need to step back and consider other people more. You can't possibly know a person or what their lives are like with a few posts on a public forum. and To make assumtions about someone really only shows your own intelligence,.. or lack there of.
Don't take anything they say personally. They probably just want to ad to their post count. =P

I understand that. I was a little shocked when I read other people's responses to yours. They may not have intended it to sound so rude, but that IS the way it came across.
I am so sorry for what you've been through. When you board your horse somewhere, you expect basic care to be given. These are our kids afterall!! =)
Good luck at your new trainer's place.

If you are showing in the Seattle area would you mind if my 10-year old daughter and I came to watch? She is starting training level 1 also. Her next show is October 8th but we haven't really been preparing so it may end up being a "learning experience"!!

I would come out to meet him, in a heartbeat! Tell me the name of the barn and a date that would work for you. I don't mind driving.
AND did you ever decide you want me to paint that picture of you? You don't hvae to buy, but I wont' do it without permission, and if you dont' buy, then I can either keep or sell.
Where is the show that you are going to do? Would be fun to watch if it's not too far. Not Donida, right?
I have been riding my friend's Irish draft/sporthorse a bit. He is big! 17hh. Fun but hard to follow his rythm sometimes.
