Blankets keep weight up because when a horse is cold, they shiver....and shivering burns calories. So thin horses cannot afford to burn calories to stay warm, so blanketing them stops them from being cold.

Did you like my: "But don't listen to me, i blanket THIS:" where i showed a picture of Beau the big, fat pig!! ROFL He could afford to lose quite a few calories.

I know that organized religion has disillusioned so many people that they now think there is no God... no higher power..... I am not part of any organized religion. To me, religion is mind control and nothing more. And in the hands of greedy and evil men, it is a mighty weapon. Controling the masses, that is what it is all about. And why I shun it. Think of how many wars were and still are being fought over religion, ....

I am a stubborn and opinionate woman and I don't need someone telling me what God wants me to think or do.... I DO believe in a higher power, just not THEIR version of it.

Things that are meant to happen, always do. It would seem as if it were chance or circumstance to some, but I don't believe that because then the importance of the matter is diminished. In other words, if we just found Beau by luck, then how is that special? But if he were sent to us by a higher power than knew he needed us ... and we needed him, then that is sublime.

Point taken, however... there must be a creator...something that controls our destiny....I believe this because of how we came to acquire Beau and would seem as if it were luck, unless one looks deeper....they were DESTINED to be ours...I KNOW this. It all came about so effortlessly. We were NEVER lookng to buy an OTTB..yet there he was. We werent even looking to buy a horse at that time...but there he was a now or never deal. same with people. People who are meant to find each other always do....

To be honest I don't really believe that God exists as the Church says ... But I believe something might exists that has created this world and so on ... My reasons to not really believe are obvious ... the things that happen everyday ... ( not to mention that almost every priest I've seen has a very expensive car ... it really has become a job nawadays.... And even in the past it was used as a feared "weapon" towards other kingdoms ) . If there is something that created all this ... a "God" ... He certainly left us do whatever we want after the creation ... lol
YET , EVEN if I don't really believe in God ... that doesn't mean i'll go all like " Eh ... why should I be nice to everyone ?! Let's kill ... rawr ... mind = blown ).. I do belive that happiness can't be reached in other way than having true and loving friends ..

In a few words .. I'm not who I am because I fear God .. I am WHO I AM because that's how I want to be . (maybe I should write a book ... rofl)

It's hard to believe that these men have families, wives and children.....wonder what job description they would give to their 5 yr. old son if he asked "what do you do at work, daddy?" Any ideas ???

lol... I wonder if these men ever told their mothers "when I grow up, I want to shoot horses between the eyes with bolt guns". Maybe these men do it because it's a job that doesn't require don't need an education, you don't need morals, you don't need a conscience, you don't need a God, you don't need to know equine anatomy.....if you miss the jugular (did i spell that right)vein, just keep stabbing till you find it.... it doesn't require much, intellectually, morally or spiritually...all you need to be able to do is to move your arm.... sorry, I'm rambling, aren't I?
