    I am 56 and have decided, some time ago, to stick with the smaller horses. Im staying away from jumping and other " young" activities also. We just don't bounce as well. No need to keep trying;-)...

    Yup. Most horses would prefer abandonment -- especially if there was adequate forage around and another horse or two.

    I've never had any issues. Stand next to the horse as if you were putting the halter on. Place the fly mask and secure the straps. Good to go.

    He's playing games with you and being disrespectful. It doesn't matter if he came from an abusive home, he's been at yours long enough now (7 months) to have figured out that he's not being abused...

    I will disagree with that. Some horses just like the feel of certain bits. Riding in a halter is ridiculous IMO. Halters are not riding tack.
