- Wow, that's a bargain! You need to snap that up if it's the right tensile strength. I paid $150 a roll for mine.
It has to be 12.5 tensile strength, or it won't hold horses. Anything with a higher number than that is too thin, and the horses can go through it or bend it completely out of shape.
I like it quite a bit. I have 3 geldings, two of which who are pretty rowdy when they get to playing, and it's working very well.
It should work well enough for your two, especially since you're planning to put hotwire around the top to keep them off the fencing.
- Hi Speed Racer. New to forum, was looking for info on high tensile field fence and came across your mention of field fence a few months back. You are talking about fence with like 5" squares in it right? How is it working for you? I have opportunity to get 5 rolls (x330ft) of High Tensile Field Fence for $29.95/roll. Fencing friends I have found it on a closeout. I have some people telling me to stay away from it but honestly, money is a factor these days and this is such a good deal I hate to pass it up ya know? I figured I should put a hot wire around the top too. We are shooting to have 2 horses (no foals at any point, just adults) next summer sometime and have rented out 1-1/2 acres that we need to fence in. What are your thoughts, experiences on the fence? Any input would be greatly appreciated SR!
