If the bars are jammed up inside they can appear to be growing faster than the rest of the foot, because when you trim them off more will push out from inside of the foot. This is a good sign so...

Do you see on the xrays the black area inside the heel? Black means air on xrays, and means collateral grooves that are too deep. That is from bars that have been left too long and are jamming up...
