Yikes! That is COLD! well o will be back in the saddle tomorrow morning so I will be able to give an update after that. Barring any horse-eating gremlins should do alright. This horse is just so stiff and it's a Fresian cross so she is really heavy and hard to move around. Kind of like riding an ironing board! So is he taking a cue from your outside leg or are you just cuing him from the inside to get him forward since that is what he knows? I'm interested to know how that issue will be tackled as I imagine there are several ways to do it!

I hear ya! Well for what it's worth, there is a horse at my barn who is shedding already so perhaps spring is on it's way?! I'll take it! How cold does it get where you are? Yesterday was the coldest day for us this winter. I think it was some where around -2 in the morning and then 5 degrees in the afternoon.

How strange that he as trained to respond to an inside cue for a canter. Talk about miscommunication! Lol! Well at least you are moving ahead and learning all about each other! Ugh. This weather really drives me crazy. I'm freezing when I get to the barn and then I'm burning after 20 minutes in the saddle. This week I had a much better ride! =). We spoked at the tractor in the corner about 10 times but finally learned that we werent going to be attacked! Baby steps.

Oops didn't mean to send that yet -I'm not good on the iPad yet. Was going to say that I'm hopeful that this weekend will be better!

Hope your guy continues to do well! =)

I'm sorry you have been sick that's terrible. Great news about your progress though! That's huge considering where you just were. Such a good feeling when you get the change you were looking for.

I haven't been riding Romeo lately due to weather (he as no indoor) but have been working with this lady's Fresian pinto. We had a terrible ride on Sunday - very stiff. I'm hoprfull that
