Thanks so much for the advice Cherie! You have given creedence to some of my thought prcess on this thing. The farrier told me to wait for it to pop out before applying polteice treatments. So, I've been impatiently waiting. And with some reluctance, I might add!

There is a group here in OK called the 'Oklahoma Equestrian Trail Riders' Association' or 'OETRA' I will try to find a number for them. We ride in the Arbuckle Mountains in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area & on ranches. We ride every day, weather permitting, schooling young horses. You are welcome to come ride with us any time. It is only 5 miles froim the ranch to the CNRA, so we ride nearly every day in the hills and canyons. We (the girl that helps us and I) take 2 'greenies' out at a time but we don't ride together except when we meet up just so we can teach them to ride off by themselves. So, we're not the best conversationalists. Our whole focus is on making good trail horses. But you are sure welcome to come with us any time and we can at least show you the trails.
