I feel ya, there's a bunch of pony club girls who get everything handed to them, and do nothing themselves, so when rallies come they have NO IDEA what to do. It's sad.

Around here it is only because the local hunter circuit is more easier for the English people, but there are several English riders. And I personally like it quite a bit. I love having an instructor who is more than willing to help with anything! haha she is a saint, but I feel like the people are forgetting the purpose. The purpose of 4H is to learn, but people have made it all about the showing and they don't learn anything. Most of the kids learn that "mommy and daddy will take care of my horse, and I just have to get on and ride"...which I was never successful in convincing my dad that it was supposed to work that way. But I also show my cattle in it, and photography and other stuff like that. And have made some great friends!

Atleast there's a few, though. I didn't know you're in 4H, how do you like it? Is /t mostly western?

A few! In my 4H club, there is a woman teaching her granddaughters to ride and she's all natural and has won awards in reining and working cow with it. But other than that, not so much.

Hopefullly you'll be able to make an impact, because the way some riding has become is just wrong. Are there many other natural horsemanship people around you?

I want to see atleast more of the local community using more natural horsemanship, and not riding bases on "I'm going to strap your face to your chests so you can't see, and then beat you to run around barrels"...I hate seeing that.

Ah that makes more sense! :p cool though, I've done a bit of construction, too actually since my dad has a carpentry business. That must be rough though...that's a lot of hours!

Sounds like you have everything planned out! Teaching clinics sounds awesome.

oh woops I think I typed that wrong. Every summer I work construction for 40 hour weeks and save up as much money as possible, since I can't work during the school year due to school and everything else. So I work like a dog in the summer. But I want to hold clinics. That's my dream...and I have an aunt who's a business woman and she agrees with my plans on starting a Therapeutic Riding Program when I'm older.

Holy that's insane! Hopefully you'll get some rains soon. What do you do for work 40 weeks of a year?

Our last HUGE rain, was spring break inMarch, and some small showers in April and May, then this summer is was like...a sprinkle here and there. It just rained 30/100 of an inch here this weekend which the horses enjoy, but we still have a ways to go. And I am not exactly sure what I wanna do. Next summer I hope to start giving lessons and working client horses, and I want to join the KBRA (Ks Barrel racing assoc) but it all requires time and money, and having to work 40 weeks all summer is going to make every thing difficult again.
