Id have her checked for uclers first. If she was cleared from that, id be adding MareMagic to get diet or trying a Depo birth control shot for her mood swings. Some mares are just...horomonal....

I'd go with pain. I'd have her checked for ulcers and have her back thoroughly checked out. Could also be her hips/hind end - if she was going oddly to compensate for the back pain she could be...
