- "I think I might be posting this twice but I wanted to know what is the best place in colorado to own a horse and are there any great trails for riding out there. I love trail riding and there just isn't much here in michigan."
Do you have an idea of which town you'll be moving to? The entire state is pretty good as far as owning a horse. As long as your outside big cities. The eastern side of the state is more flat and without trees (similar to Kansas) while the west obviously has the mountains. I'm not entirely sure on exact places that are good for trail riding, but there are tons of places in the mountains to ride. Lots of parks and things. I live mostly in Colorado Springs which doesn't have many places to own horses or board (the few there are pricy), but if you get a little outside of the city there's a lot. I'm going to school in Fort Collins and it's pretty horsey up here without being too far out of civilization. Lots of open space.
