Well you have to remember before big progress can be made the trust and start of an understanding for each other ( respect for each other) So in three weeks time this is just starting to happen...

My tip would be to do one thing at a time. Don't do half of one thing and half of another. Make sure he had fully learned what you taught him before you introduce him to something else.

Don't lope from the trot all the time. Lope from the standstill, the walk, etc. Do a pivot and lope off. Do a sidepass and lope off. If you're determined to get that transition, I do a lot of backing...
