The reason I picked this pic is because I liked the lighting on the dog, the depth of field naturally drew my eye to the subject, and the framing was pretty strong. I like how you had the obstacle (I'm assuming that's what it was? For a course of sorts, right?) in the background – a direct tie-in (at least in my mind) to what the dog does. I like how you shot it at 18mm, getting the wide-angle somewhat distorted look; however I would have liked to have been able to see the dogs ears – having them cut out of the frame made it feel a little awkward to me. Over all, though, I like the way this pic looks. =)

There was another one, but I don't have enough room here to post my thoughts.

I like the sound of that idea! I've got a friend that lives 2 miles down the road who breeds minis (I'm not exactly what for... I think just for fun.). He's got probably around 25 of 'em that I could pick from I think there's a few fluffy cute ones in the munch. Haha! Okay. I'll make sure to take lots of pics when/if I decide to go look. =)
Oh, nice! That would be so much fun being that high when riding... hehe, I've only experienced the 14.3 height of Oakey. =P Yeah, yeah... I know. I work for a contractor we primarily do residential and commercial remodeling.
When I first got my camera, I didn't have a clue how to use it. But I just switched it into manual and shot a whole bunch of cruddy pictures until I got it figured out. =P PRactice a lot and read a lot, and you'll get it sooner or later. =)
Wow! I love her horse stuff! She's got a good eye for poses (and boy! is it hard to get a horse posed, too =P). =)

I post the photo critique later when I have more time. =)

    And... part three:

I've heard lots of good things about smugmug! Never used them before, though. I think my brother used them for a while (might still, but I'm not sure). What kind of computer are you looking to buy?

Looks like you've got a good start with your photography! =D Just out of curiosity, do you shoot in manual or auto (or some variant of auto)? If you ever want me to critique an specific photos, just let me know – I'm always up to sharing my observations (even though I'm always good at following those same observations when I shoot my own pics =P). =)

    Not a problem. =)

Part two: (It says I have too many words... =P)

Thanks! Nope, I had a nikon. I've got a 50mm, but you'd have to get an adapter to get it to work on a Canon (and you'd lose the auto-focus feature through the adapter). I also have a flash My bro's been thinking about getting a flash, but he can't decide if he wants to buy mine or a Canon flash; the only downside to using a Nikon flash on a Canon camera is that you've got to set the flash brightness manually (which, imo, is actually better than using auto). If you're interested in that, I'll check with him to see if he really wants it or if I can go ahead and sell it. I'll probably sell it for $175.

    Very cool. =)
I'm torn, because a mini would be much cheaper and I wouldn't have to be committed to riding, but a draft would be waaay more fun and I could ride it. =P We'll see, though. I'm thinking about taking some college courses in horse science if I do, then I'll have to take the horse money and put it into that instead. Hehe. I'm almost ready to leave parkour be... to many injuries. (It's crazy how you think more about safety when you have to stay fit for work =P)
