177 confiscated Miniature Horses up for auction/adoption.

I know many of you own Minis here and others have adopted some. These 177 Minis, were confiscated and desperately need new homes.

They also need foster homes for some of these little horses. If you can offer a foster or forever home to one of these little ones, please do attend the auction or contact Chances.

And please, if you don't own a truly top-notch mare, don't breed. We can't find homes for the thousands already out there.

Wow, wonder what the story is behind that??! I am in Oregon a couple hours from there.

The minis are currently in the same county I am in
...It's really sad because some of them were dead and the owners of the minis not only hoarded minis but cats and dogs were also found dead in cages.
A local vet,Dr. Buckmaster is working on helping the minis out. I was practicing barrels when he was taking care of them.They are in an arena running around but they have it so no one can actually see them. My mom is thinking about adopting some.

What I don't understand is that while reading about this is says something about animals owned by other people to be claimed? WTH, would someone be doing letting this woman "take care" of their animal???

I saw some of the terrible movies and TV interviews from that place. Filthy cages and dead animals. Sadly, I'm sure there are hundreds of other horses and animals of all types and breeds, suffering similarly out there.

I do hope your mum gives a home to a couple of these little people. They deserve so much better than their lives have deal them until now.

OH WOW! In the other link posted it reads that she was convicted of animal abuse in 2009??? WTH!!!!

Oh, the poor babies. If we didn't already have 22 (two being mine, personally) I'd bring some down here. I do hope that they all find homes.

That's just miserable - unfortunately it's not the first case. There was a case almost exactly identical to this in MA a few years back - our rescue took in one of the yearlings that was blind - as it would have been harder to adopt her out with her needs. It's unfortunate, but animal hoarding truly is a sickness and typically the owners have some serious underlying mental issues.
It's disheartening how often this happens and the unfortunate results of people like this - truthfully the smaller, easier breeds take the brunt of these situations, but the larger breeds aren't free from it either. :(
