Branding

I have a Shetland/Konik cross who is believed to be from pennsylvania or Florida. His brand is an s inside a horse shoe. Hence the name Shamus... any ideas? I'll get pics when he sheds and you can see it....

Hmmm, no ideas here, but I am not familiar at all with branding.
Definitely post pics though when you can.
Love the name Shamus!

Thank you! I will try to but I'm going to shave him down because right now he looks like a wooly mammoth....

QuarterMileRun, if it is warm enough it is a good idea to body clip.
I do all of mine every spring, they don't seem to be able to shed out all that hair fast enough on their own.

Allison Finch, the link worked! No replies as of yet that I saw....
That was a great idea!

Oh, thanks.
I spent some time scanning some old photos into the computer the other day.
That is Kizmit and me.
When he was first born he would sleep in my lap, as he grew, he thought he could still sleep in my lap!
I really loved it, and Jazz would come and stand over us, some times resting her muzzle on my head.
Miss those times....

Well no wonder you miss them!! This is the most amazing picture I have ever seen......beautiful. You should enter it in the April photo contest. I know I would vote for it!!! LOVE it~and the foal sleeping on you is truly amazing. Do you still have him?

(OP, I know we are getting way off topic here.....sorry!)

Thanks! It is one of my favorite pictures as well.
I all ready entered my avatar pic in the contest, but I will go replace it with the other, just so you can vote for it!

Yes, I still have Kizmit. He's a tad fuzzy here, but I like the shot anyway.
That's him on the left with Jazz in the 2nd pic. They are almost twins, but he did get a bit taller than her.
I have to tell you, if he is laying down napping, he will still lay his head in my lap if I sit down with him.
