Red face Domino "update", Bib-clips & Braids, bit Pic-Heavy...

Well, seems like this miniature section of the forum needs some activity!
Seeing as how I am stuck back in the house due to all this continual rain, maybe I'll try to stir it up....

Some of you may remember the thread on my new boy, Domino, from the beginning of the year.
Can't contain myself any longer! New Mini...
Did not know if I should ad to it, so starting another.

I am still impatiently waiting to finish "un-wrapping" my birthday present unfortunately. Nothing like drawing out the anticipation huh?
We are having a very long, cold, rainy spring here.

I was able to get out and give them all, except Sammy, bib-clips though on one rare sunny day. They were all getting into that itchy/rubby stage so I was happy to at least get that accomplished.
Really relieved I did not give in to temptation and body-clip anyone though! It has just stayed too wet and cold....

Also learned a braid, thanks to another thread on the forum with a great video!
It is keeping the witch knots out of Sammy's mane, yay! And should be really pretty to weave ribbon and flowers into for Parades too.

Okay, well here are a few pics of my boys...thanks for look'in!
Love to see what you have been up to with your minis!

I love seeing your little minis! I bet Domino is so happy there. I am partial to Hobbs, I think. I just love that color...is that considered a dark bay? He has such a sweet little face. I need to start posting here more often, I am going to see if I can get the pics from my phone onto my computer.

Ok, here is Bruno with his braid. I have been redoing their braids every other day to keep that hot mane off their necks! Bruno has such a nice, shiny coat. He is so handsome.

Here is Boo with his braid! His mane is very "cotton like" and the braid doesn't hold so well. Lately, I have been doing the braids in two sections...like, I stop halfway through as if I am done and fasten it. Then, I start over. Seems to stay in better that way. Kind of looks cool...would really look cool if done in 3 parts, I think.

Also, notice his "jock strap?" I think this is a great idea I learned from my vet. He had a summer sore on his sheath, it was REALLY gross. To keep the flies off of him, I take a pair of pantyhose and cut out the crotch. I tie the waistband with a rubberband. I put his sheath in the hole I cut out (so the tied part is down) and then tie the hose around his flanks. He can still drop and pee, but it really keeps the flies off of his sheath, plus helps keep the medicine on (I use a summer sore cream the vet mixed up for me, then spray silver spray on top of that.)

They both look great, thanks for posting pics!
Love seeing little Boo in his "fly-strap", glad it is working.
Wished my boys looked better, just have to be patient and wait for Mother Nature to cooperate....Bruno does look so handsome!

I did not clip Hobbs last year, he seemed to shed out well enough on his own.
So I was very pleasantly pleased when I finished shaving off all that facial hair to see what a gorgeous little head he has! Funny how getting rid of that beard can make such a big difference. My hubby loves how much he looks like my two Quarter Horses, minus the white star of course.
Where I'd clipped all looked dull and grey'ish, so looking forward to his rich Bay color coming back once it grows out some.

Hopefully I can update soon with some much better photos of all of them...
Really like to be able to get them finished before the parades next month!

Thank you, I tend to think so too, LOL!
Even better, his "beauty" is not just on the surface.
